We live in times when it is common to change not just jobs but set out on an entirely new career track altogether. Both of these are significant moves and most of us tend to have a sharp focus on managing the various aspects of the move – very consciously and deliberately.
In my own career and while coaching clients, I have noticed that all careers involve a series of transitions, even when you do not change jobs or careers. It is these apparently smaller ones, those that do not strike us as a transition, that can derail careers. For example:
These are only a few instances where success depends on managing the transitions actively. Career Transitions can last a few weeks or stretch into months and are messy, sensitive times that require careful attention. Done well, they can set you up for success. Shrugging it off with a casual “I can handle this”, simply because you have made similar moves earlier, can lead to a hard, bumpy landing. Working with a coach can make it a smooth one.
When you sign up for the Career Transition Odyssey, I work with you through a series of seven sessions:
So, whether you are going through a significant career transition like moving into a new job at a new company or moving in a similar role but to an entirely new sector or you are in the midst of smaller-scale transitions like the ones listed above, don’t leave a successful career transition to “winging it”.
Career Transition journeys and Confidence journeys can take widely differing paths depending upon your situation and individual needs. If you would like a customised pathway, I will work with you to map out a unique one that meets your specific requirements.
For a complimentary, no-commitment, 30-minute pathway mapping session, please get in touch.
